Research, Consultancy and Publications
The institute conducts research and studies on topical issues pertaining to development – local and international. An institute research agenda is currently in place to help researchers within the institute and those affiliated to it, to identify priority areas for research and analysis. The institute also conducts consultancy services and commissioned studies, often on contract, for Government, NGOs, CBOs, private sector, donor organizations etc. The findings of the researches and consultancies not only feed into IDS teaching but also help in policy development. The IDS has designed several ways of disseminating the findings of the researches, studies, consultancy assignments it conducts. These include, inter alia, book publications, journal publications, out reach and dissemination workshops and seminars.
