Goals and Objectives
The main goal of IDS Library is to support teaching, research and consultancy in the University College as well as at higher learning institutions and in the community. The objectives of the Library are to meet the information needs of the academic community by acquiring, processing, storing, preserving and disseminating relevant materials, managing an information database, educating and training library users on search, access and utilization of information services and providing practical training facilities for Students.
The Collection
The Library contains over 10,000 book titles in nearly 12,000 book volumes, over 10 CDS that cover a wide range of subjects. It also subscribes to about 60 periodical titles from both local and overseas sources. The Dewey Decimal System is used to classify information resources acquired by the Library. Books in the Collection belong to different subject areas such as Co-operation, Management, Sociology, Economics, Materials Management, Communication Skills, Entrepreneurship, Research Methods, Community Development
Services
Services provided include book lending, readers' advisory, general reference,new papers,special reserve and Internet services. There are 2 Computer to enable Students and other users to browse the online information. Users can access the library through the Internet.
Users
Library services are available to University Students, Lecturers and Staff. Outsiders who consist of Researchers, Students of other institutions of higher learning and members of the general public are given access to the library at a fee or with special permit.
